suburb profiles

From cosy timber cottages and spacious brick veneer homes, to mud brick houses and rural acreage, the diverse range of properties in Warrandyte, Warranwood and surrounds attracts buyers from across Melbourne, interstate and overseas.

We love the area, that’s why we live here!  Nothing can compare to experiencing Warrandyte and surrounds in person, but here’s a taste of what to expect:

Suburb profiles:

  • Warrandyte & Warrandyte North: Frequently described as ‘Country in the City’, the suburbs of Warrandyte and Warrandyte North are located 24km (30 minutes approx) from Melbourne’s central business district (CBD).

Gateway to the Yarra Valley wine region, Warrandyte and Warrandyte North are separated by the Yarra River and connected by the historic Warrandyte Bridge.  Bordered by Park Orchards, Wonga Park, Kangaroo Ground and Doncaster East, residents enjoy a leafy environment with easy access to Melbourne’s CBD via the Eastern Freeway, and Melbourne Airport via the Western Ring Road.

In the mid 1800s, Warrandyte was a gold mining community. By the late 1800s the area was popular among artists and those seeking rural pursuits.

Post war years saw closer settlement and many of the larger land holdings were subdivided for housing. Today Warrandyte is part of the ‘Green Wedge’ and in almost all circumstances further subdivision is prohibited.

Warrandyte is popular with medium to high end buyers who are prepared to travel to the inner suburbs for employment, but seek to live in a rural environment.

  • Kangaroo Ground: Characterised by large rural allotments, Kangaroo Ground is popular with property owners who want to engage in rural pursuits such as horse agistment or operating a boutique vineyard.  Depending on the location, the majority of homes offer panoramic views of the Dandenong Ranges or Melbourne's CBD.  Kangaroo Ground residents reap the benefits of a country lifestyle and enjoy the convenience of being close to the townships of Warrandyte and Eltham.
